Bring Me the Banchan: Korean BBQ at Norfolk Garden

Bring Me the Banchan: Korean BBQ at Norfolk Garden

I had the pleasure of meeting someone who got me out of my food shell and exploring other cuisines. She recently moved to Japan, but before her departure we tried a few places that she recommended and that are highly rated in the area. The first was Norfolk Garden, a Korean Restaurant in the Military Circle area of Norfolk.

A Cheesesteak from The Grill at Great Bridge: Southern Grit Magazine Feature

The last time I had a cheesesteak was in Philadelphia when an area native took me to her favorite spot and she said it was one of the best. An edible masterpiece came out on toasted bread filled with tender meat, peppers, onions, and provolone cheese. I have been searching  to find a place in Hampton Roads that was serving anything that halfway resembled what I had in Philly. But the day came when I was scrolling through Instagram and saw The Grill at Great Bridge

When Creating a Peaceful Home by Organizing Your Kitchen Becomes a Nightmare

When Creating a Peaceful Home by Organizing Your Kitchen Becomes a Nightmare

A few weeks ago I told you about the Virginia Bloggers Peaceful Home Challenge. During that time I was "supposed" to be cleaning, de-cluttering, finding peace in the different areas of my home and giving you tips on how you can do the same. My goal was to tackle an area a week, starting with my kitchen then moving to my computer room and then bedroom.  Well I'm still in the kitchen...read about how that is going.

For the first time in 10 years, I boarded the Spirit of Norfolk for their Wine Down Wednesday Cruise with the Williamsburg Winery. It offers scenic views of the Elizabeth River, complimentary prosecco at boarding, 5 courses and wine pairings.

Virginia Bloggers Peaceful Home Challenge: September Edition

I’ll be the first to admit it, we all get busy and that can be the first thing to get a little out of control. If you’re like me, you probably need some motivation to de-clutter, organize, and find peace in your home. I have teamed up with a few bloggers for a challenge that we are calling the VA Bloggers Peaceful Home.

Battle of The Best Hangover Burgers in Hampton Roads

Battle of The Best Hangover Burgers in Hampton Roads

I love hangover burgers. Often called a breakfast burger, its comes with bacon, cheese, and an egg. I judge a restaurant based on their ability to make a good one, because the quality and preparation of the ingredients make a big difference in the overall taste. So with recommendations from the inter-webs, I went on a search to find the best in Hampton Roads and share them with you.

To be fair and consistent I order them the same way: the burger cooked medium, lettuce tomato and onion (LTO), and a side of fries. I'm calling this, the Battle of the Best Hangover Burger.

My First Pho Experience

My First Pho Experience

Pho, Ramen, the noodle dishes... I'm sure you've heard of them. For the longest time I thought they were the same, and that the names were interchangeable. Both have been around forever, but despite the many restaurants serving it, I have never eaten anything other than the small packs for $0.30 in the grocery store.

Most people are shocked when a "foodie" hasn't eaten something most people love, so I went to Pho 79 in Ghent to try it out.

Sunday Funday at H2OBX Waterpark

Sunday Funday at H2OBX Waterpark

Is it just me or does the feeling of nostalgia hit you hard during the summer months?  Since I'm no longer in school I don't have the pleasure of getting an extended summer break, so it is up to me to make the most of the warm weather and plan my own mini summer adventures.

As a child, every summer I would visit all of the local water and amusement parks. Now as an adult, my amusement park days have been limited, but I make it a goal to go once a year. I recently visit H2OBX Waterpark in Outer Banks for a day of fun with a friend.
